主讲人：John Holmes

ABRSM首席考官

John曾就读于剑桥大学的国王学院，主修音乐专业。他的钢琴导师为Bernard King和Alexander Kelly，同时期他还跟随Jack Brymer学习单簧管。1983年-2010年期间，John曾任英国Tonbridge中学的音乐系主任以及管乐团主管，除专注于音乐学科教学和器乐教学外，作为一名职业的单簧管演奏家，他也曾与多个专业管弦乐团合作演出。

John从1990年开始担任英皇音乐考试的考官，并参加过英皇音乐考试教学和表演等领域的多次重大活动，如英皇文凭考试和爵士乐考试的审查，世界不同地区英皇考试的审查，考官的培训和审核等。从2010年起约John出任英皇音乐考试的首席考官，为英皇音乐考试的全体考官所开展的考试和评卷工作提供指导。同时，他与英皇音乐考试考官委员会一起肩负起了维持和提升英皇音乐考试最高标准的重担。

John定期给参加英皇音乐考试的教师、家长以及考生们提供尽可能多的支持，并为提升英皇音乐考试在全球的影响力而努力奋斗着。John自己有四个孩子，他们都参加过英皇各种乐器的不同级别的考试。在过去的30 多年里，John的很多学生都参加了英皇的考试。

JohnHolmes was educated at King’s College, Cambridge, where he read Music. Hestudied piano with Bernard King and Alexander Kelly, and clarinet with JackBrymer. As a clarinettist he has performed with professional orchestras, thoughfor many years the focus of his work was instrumental and academic musicteaching at Tonbridge School, where he was Head of Academic Music and Head ofWoodwind from 1983 to 2010.

Johnjoined ABRSM as an examiner in 1990 and combined teaching and performing with awide range of ABRSM activities, including Diploma and Jazz examining, numerousinternational examining tours, examiner training and moderating, and mentoringteachers. In 2010 John took up the post of ABRSM’s Chief Examiner, a role whichprovides leadership and direction for all ABRSM examiners in the conduct oftheir examining work, with responsibility for achieving and maintainingthe highest standards of examining across all ABRSM’s panels of examiners.

John gives regularpresentations to support teachers, parents and candidates, and to raiseawareness of ABRSM exams worldwide.  John has four children who betweenthem have taken various ABRSM graded exams on a range of instruments, and hehas been entering his own pupils for exams for over 30 years.
